Makyo (2023)
In Zen Buddhism, “Makyo” refers to the comfortable nest we make out of our delusions. In this impressionistic, dream-like film, a young man prepares to give up worldly comforts—and relationships—to break out of those delusions. Through surreal chance encounters with an old friend, a vacuum salesman, and even bugs, Abner learns how to find stillness in a chaotic world.
