One day, at a fairy-tale French castle, Princess Agnès de Sully de Montana Bleue is awakened by the ominous roar of a crowd beneath her windows. The discontented people are rebelling in the country, and she must immediately get to safety. There is no time for elegant gowns or full chests, so she becomes an exile. On the advice of her maid, she sets off for her long-forgotten homeland, the distant Czech Republic, where, however, the distrustful Countess, after her son falls in love with Agnès, subjects her to a rigorous test that we all know so well: she has her mercilessly made to sleep on a bed of small green peas. Will the princess succeed in the tried and tested test and prove her noble origins? Or will she fall into a deep sleep after a long and exhausting journey?
