Rather than Maomao’s typical analytical insights, this special episode provides a close glimpse into Jinshi's thoughts. They depict him contemplating his everyday exchanges with Maomao, navigating the intricacies of the Inner Palace, and grappling with his ongoing, hidden infatuation. The diaries uncover his concealed, frustrated battles as an attractive 19-year-old man trying to uphold the appearance of a mild, anaphrodisiac-inspired "eunuch" while striving to attract the unusually unaware Maomao's notice.
