Four strangers from in and around Oxford try to host their way to the £1000 prize. First host is medical secretary Ruth, who hopes her night of hearty home cooking will wow her guests. She is joined by food writer and critic Michelle, coffee shop owner Rob, and businessman James. Unfortunately for Ruth, her brekkie inspired starter and eggy curry leave a lot to be desired. Michelle attempts to win the grand with a raspberry themed menu, Rob tries to create a fun atmosphere, and James goes for the al fresco option.
