The movie starts with Ran having a nightmare about her mother getting shot and killed. Ten years ago, Kogoro Mouri along with Dr. Agasa, Eri Kisaki, and Inspector Megure helped arrest a murderous card dealer - Murakami Jo. Though in order to bring the killer down...Kogoro shot Eri (Ran's mother). Now ten years later, Murakami Jo has been released from prison serving his time....and looking for revenge. Already injuring 3 people, he means business. Conan and Kogoro must figure out the next victim is and stop the killer before he actually kills.
