00x25 The Pelican Crossing

A public information advert featuring the cast of Dad's Army, created to inform the public of how to use a pelican crossing. The crossing was temporarily installed for filming on a dead-end service road in Woodley, Berkshire, itself now pedestrianised. A follow-up film featured just Bill Pertwee (ARP Warden Hodges) and Edward Sinclair (as the verger) in Hodges' van, attempting to subvert the Highway Code, with unfortunate consequences.
