In this original version, Jerry was an experimental psychologist who shared an office with Bob, and Carol and Mr. Carlin did not appear in the pilot at all. This initial version did not test well with audiences, leading to the changes seen in the aired pilot, "Fly the Unfriendly Skies," which aired later in the season.
