Review of Ed's Show at the St. Regis

On this show we get a glimpse of Ed's night club act with triplet singing troupe, The Kane Sisters. Then a fantastic and fun appearance by everybody's favorite drummer Buddy Rich. Buddy sits in with the band for a bit for some improvisation (and good old fashioned showing off). Then opera singer Marilyn Horne drops in to add a touch of class for the evening. Next we have some comedy skits with the Ace Trucking Co. Finally, former first daughter Margaret Truman discusses her soon to be released book about her father, President Harry S. Truman. President Truman himself passed away about a month after this show aired.

Los Angeles detectives Dick Barlow and Roger Pida chat with Johnny about going undercover in drag; Jack Benny plugs the upcoming "Jack Benny's First Farewell Special" and shows an out-take; Child prodigy Dylan Jenson plays the violin and impressionist Rich Little imitates Benny and Carson.

Ed and Johnny inspect outrageous inventions. Twenty-four year old boxer George Foreman discusses becoming heavyweight champion. Actress Sandy Duncan discusses her recent marriage to Dr. Thomas Calcaterra. Comic Steve Martin does standup for dogs and card tricks for Johnny. Actress Binnie Barnes talks about life and her latest film "40 Carats".

First the usual monologue followed by a visit from Carnac! Next is a visit from old time Hollywood stunt man Putt Mossman. Afterwards is a wild visit from Robert Blake followed by music with The Bee Gees (thankfully pre-disco).
