This mini-episode serves as a comedic introduction to Tanya’s character in the mini-series format.

Tanya, known for her ruthless battlefield tactics, is shown struggling with mundane office work — piles of paperwork, bureaucratic meetings, and the tedious side of military administration.

Tanya and Viktoriya are having a quiet conversation when Tanya suddenly spaces out (i.e. her expression changes, she becomes distant). Her grim expression and laughter terrify Viktoriya, who calls out to her but can’t immediately bring her back to her senses.

Tanya and Viktoriya are standing together in front of a nutcracker. Tanya is lost in thought, mentally complaining about a few things: being subject to “Being X,” problems with her superiors (like Doctor Schugel), military issues, etc.

Characters Rhiner, Viktoriya (“Visha”), Vooren, and Wilibald are gossiping about Tanya’s harsh training methods in the Imperial Army’s 203rd Air Mage Battalion.

Weiss expresses his doubts/concerns to Viktoriya about their war conduct, specifically that he (Weiss) was merely following the manual / orders as an Air Mage.

Viktoriya (Visha) is talking with Neumann and Koenig, and remarks that she finds it odd that Tanya always carries a rifle with her, even though she supposedly doesn’t like to carry guns around.

Rhiner and Koenig visit him. Weiss expresses that he really wants chocolate to lift his spirits after the tiring fight.

Tanya asks Viktoriya if she can tell the difference between a normal and a rotten potato. Viktoriya responds that the only way she can tell is by taste. Tanya then explains the proper way to recognize a rotten potato and the aftereffects of consuming one.

The group is playing cards, and Vooren is on a losing streak, becoming increasingly frustrated. He suggests that betting alcohol instead of chocolate might make the game more serious.

Vooren Glanz, Wilibald Koenig, Rhiner Neumann and Matheus Johan Weiss are in a room while Neumann and Koenig complained to Weiss about his drunk attitude that scares women away, this caused them being not popular around women. Weiss will sexually harass women with words while he is drunk, which he claims it as only being compliments.Upon hearing this fact, the three was shocked especially Vooren. Weiss promised that he will not make the mistake again, then they went to get drinks.Unfortunately, Weiss got drunk and sexually harassed women. The other three stood aside, talking how they view alcohol as a prohibited item for Weiss then on. Suddenly, Viktoriya Ivanovna Serebryakov appeared being uncomfortable with two men harassing her. The four helped Visha and drove the men away. Visha being grateful to them as she does not know that Weiss harassed women sexually when he is drunk.

Viktoriya Ivanovna Serebryakov was writing on her diary, starting by introducing herself. Then, a brief introduction about Tanya Degurechaff and how Visha admires her. A flashback takes place of Tanya talking to her Battalion members, Matheus Johan Weiss, Viktoriya Ivanovna Serebryakov, Wilibald Koenig, Rhiner Neumann and Vooren Glanz. They state how effective Tanya's trainings were, also how strict and hellish it were. However, Tanya does not recall this memory, causing the five to burst into laughter. Tanya then stated that she expects further growth from the Battalion as they are entering fiercer battles. As they grow, Tanya will grow physically as well. Tanya joked that if there is anyone who falls for a innocent little girl like her, she will cut that person.The flashback ends, Visha had a small guess that God must have loved Tanya so much because she is a perfect person.

The time is UC 1926. The Imperial Army's 203rd Air Mage Battalion led by Major Tanya Degurechaff has won the battle to the south against the Republic's stragglers. They expected to be given a vacation after returning victorious, but instead receive special orders from Staff HQ as soon as they get home. They are told that there were signs of a large-scale deployment near the border between the Empire and the Union. Faced with the prospect of a new major enemy, the desperate Empire fans the flame of war. Meanwhile, an international volunteer army spearheaded by the Kingdom arrived to the Union. As they say, the enemy of an enemy is your friend. They suffer through misfortune purely out of national interest, and among them is a young girl.

Tanya and her battalion tell the viewers to refrain from improper theater etiquette such as using phones during the film, talking, and smoking.

The 203rd Air Mage Battalion led by Tanya is forced to fight in the southern desert, the front line. In an effort to provide some food for the harsh conditions, Colonel Rerugen sent dried pasta to the battlefield. Will Tanya and the others be able to eat the delicious pasta under the conditions of water shortage?
