Strikers Michael Owen , Emile Heskey and Robbie Fowler are supported by a fluent midfield and a strong defence built around robust Finn Sami Hyypia. Boss Gerard Houllier will be expecting much of young midfield star Steven Gerrard and inspirational veteran Gary McAllister.

Greece are nearly out of the World Cup after losing to Albania, but played very impressively in their matches against Germany.
