Recorded live at Jacob Street Studios, London, England in May 1995.
What could be a better vehicle for Chrissie Hynde's gorgeous vocals and impeccably arranged songs than the acoustically tinged live set captured on THE ISLE OF VIEW? Better than a greatest hits compilation, the album shows a sense of maturity for Ms. Hynde. Her songs come off wise and womanly, not as brash as the post-punk rantings of The Pretenders' first albums.
With the exquisite string arrangements behind Hynde classics like "Back On The Chain Gang" and "Kid," it is obvious that this is a new Pretenders, a more luxurious and elaborate affair. But when the punches behind "I Hurt You" or the sinister "Private Life" come in, it becomes apparent that Hynde and her Pretenders have only gotten stronger as their journey has progressed.
Chrissie Hynde has matured into one of the foremothers of contemporary pop. Her songwriting suaveness no longer comes from the "Brass In Pocket"-styled brashness of yesteryear, but

0x07 Elvis: Comeback Special
12 December, 1968 5:00 am
1968 United States television special. Sponsored by The Singer Sewing Machine Company, it aired on December 3, 1968 on the NBC television network. The special is commonly referred to as the '68 Comeback Special, because of subsequent developments in Presley's career, but the soundtrack album was released simply as NBC-TV Special. It was directed by Steve Binder and produced by Binder and Bones Howe.
Presley's informal jamming in front of a small audience in the '68 Comeback Special is regarded as a forerunner of the so-called 'Unplugged' concept, later popularized by MTV.

Fourteen years after the breakup, an Eagles country tribute album titled Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles was released in 1993. Travis Tritt insisted on having the Long Run-era Eagles in his video for "Take It Easy" and they agreed. After the "Take It Easy" video was completed the following year, and following years of public speculation, the band finally formally reunited. The lineup comprised the five Long Run-era members – Frey, Henley, Walsh, Felder and Schmit – supplemented by additional musicians: Scott Crago (drums), John Corey (keyboards, guitar, backing vocals), Timothy Drury (keyboards, guitar, backing vocals) and Al Garth (sax, violin) on stage.
"For the record, we never broke up, we just took a 14-year vacation", announced Frey at their first live performance in April 1994. The ensuing tour spawned a live album titled Hell Freezes Over (named for Henley's recurring statement that the group would get back together "when hell freezes over") which debuted at #1 on the B

MTV Unplugged in New York is a live album by the American grunge band Nirvana. It features an acoustic performance taped at Sony Music Studios in New York City on November 18, 1993 for the television series MTV Unplugged. The show was directed by Beth McCarthy and first aired on the cable television network MTV on December 14, 1993. As opposed to traditional practice on the television series, Nirvana played a setlist composed of mainly lesser-known material and cover versions of songs by The Vaselines, David Bowie, Meat Puppets (during which they were joined by two members of the group onstage) and Lead Belly.

The internationally renowned singer used the Cologne City Garden for a stunning journey through his own history - a career that has made him one of the most unique artists of this genre. The acoustic versions of his pop hits - including "Dem Gone", "Superior", "Send a Prayer" and "Different Places" - demonstrate how wonderfully melodic and memorable his songs are.
