MTV Unplugged toasts 50 years of hip hop with an unforgettable night of performances from Queen Latifah, Wyclef Jean, Redman, The Sugarhill Gang and more greats of the Garden State.

"MTV Unplugged" has carved out a history as the origin of original and unique acoustic live performances, featuring top artists from around the world. Since it was first held in New York in 1989, over 100 artists have performed, including Eric Clapton, Mariah Carey, Nirvana, Oasis, Adele, and Katy Perry. As a Japanese production, top artists such as Hikaru Utada, Ken Hirai, Kana Nishino, KinKi Kids, and Rira Ikuta have presented performances that are a little different from their usual live performances. This time, a four-person band from Aichi Prefecture, “Ryokuoushoku Shakai(Midori-Yoshi Society,)” will appear on this traditional stage.
