44x01 Telly Gets Jealous

Telly and Baby Bear are playing with their pets. Baby Bear's pet parrot can talk, speak Spanish, make his own snacks, and even squeak like Telly's hamster! When Telly tries to get his pet hamster to do tricks, she doesn't do any of them. Telly is upset, calls Baby Bear names, and storms off. Gordon notices that Telly is upset and asks him what's wrong. Telly says he's feeling angry because Baby Bear's parrot can do all kinds of cool things that his hamster can't. Gordon explains that Telly is feeling jealous, and that it's normal to feel that way. Telly wants to apoloize to Baby Bear, but every time he sees Baby Bear and his parrot, he feels too jealous to speak. Gordon suggests that Telly try putting his hands on belly and saying, "Stop!" when he sees Baby Bear. Then, he should take a few slow, deep breaths to calm down. Telly, Baby Bear, and Rosita are playing school. Telly is pretending to be the teacher and asks someone to write the letter "T" on the blackboard. Rosita is so excited to volunteer that she accidentally pushes Baby Bear on her way to the board. At first, Baby Bear accepts her apology. But after Rosita pushes him two more times on her way to the blackboard, he is upset. He doesn't like being pushed, and doesn't want to play school anymore. Rosita really wants to play with Baby Bear but can't seem to control herself. Rosita asks Gordon for help. He suggests that she try to stop and hug herself whenever she gets too excited or frustrated. Will Gordon's strategy help Rosita stay calm in the classroom? Tune in to find out! Stinky the plant is trying to grow a flower for the Sesame Street flower show. The problem is, it doesn't seem to grow no matter how hard he tries. Stinky is discouraged and worried that he'll never bloom at all. Leela and Elmo tell Stinky to relax and breathe because worrying too much could make it harder to grow a flower. Stinky tries to calm himself down, but he still doesn't bloom. Meanwhile, the plants around him are blooming with lots of flowers! Frustrated and discouraged, Stinky is about to give up. Then, Leela reassures Stinky that even if he doesn't grow a flower, he is still unique and special to all his friends. As Stinky tells himself he's special, he starts to feel better. Sesame Street is having a Latino Street Festival! There are people from many different places in Latin America and a booth to represent each one. Rosita and Telly visit Luis' booth and learn that his family came from Mexico—just like Rosita's family! At another booth, Maria and Mando explain that both their families came from Puerto Rico. Suddenly, Telly and Rosita hear a noise. It's a little frog, or coquí that Maria borrowed for the Puerto Rico booth. Rosita catches it to bring back to Maria, but the coquí jumps out of her hands and hops away! As Rosita and Telly search for the coquí, they visit booths and learn about places in the world where people speak Spanish, like Peru and Cuba. Rosita is excited to discover that she can speak Spanish to people all over the world, not just her friends and family in Mexico. But will Rosita and Telly ever find the coquí? Tune in to find out! Chris helps him practice, but when Telly quickly messes up, he starts to feel even more worried. Just then, the real Simon appears and explains that Telly will have an easier time staying in the game if he can relax. Telly relaxes and practices some more, but he eventually makes another mistake. Simon gives Telly one last piece of advice before the competition: Listen carefully, and think. The competition is about to start, but Telly is still nervous! The cookie painting looks good enough to eat, so Cookie Monster does just that, he eats the painting. Every time Cookie paints a new picture, he can't help but eat it. She wishes there were a book that told a better story about being Mexican. Mando understands and encourages Rosita to write her very own story about what being Mexican means to her. While Rosita is trying to think of how to tell her story, her friends on Sesame Street come by and ask her to play with them. Sesame Street is on an episode of "Gotcha!" The TV show that uses hidden cameras to catch people using really bad manners, and host Johnny Gotcha is ready to catch some impoliteness in action. Baby Bear and Curly Bear are eating their porridge when Johnny Gotcha jumps out and yells "Gotcha!" But the hidden cameras show Baby Bear and Curly Bear using good manners. They use napkins to wipe their mouths, they don't talk with their mouth full and they say "please" and "thank you." Johnny Gotcha won't give up until he finds someone using bad manners on Sesame Street. Nearby, Abby and Big Bird are cleaning up their toys when Johnny Gotcha jumps out and yells "Gotcha!" But again, the hidden cameras show Abby and Big Bird also using good manners. They share their toys; they take turns playing with them, and they clean up together. Big Bird is having a nest sale on Sesame Street! He wants to sell all of his old, unwanted toys to someone who will play with them. Big Bird appoints Snuffy to be his Assistant Nest Sale Snuffleupagus. Big Bird goes to pick up some of his old toys and accidentally knocks his teddy bear, Radar, into the nest. Later, when The Count buys all the toys inside of Big Bird's nest, he also buys Radar. When Big Bird goes to look for his beloved teddy bear, he and Snuffy realize what happened. They find The Count and he tells them that he gave Radar to a monster for his teddy bear collection. He doesn't know the monster's name, but he tells them what he looks like. But Rosita tells them that they can meet her abuela later, and the four of them play a game of soccer. Rosita keeps getting called away from the game to translate for her grandmother, who only speaks Spanish. Eventually Rosita becomes so embarrassed that her abuela only speaks a language that her friends don't understand, that she runs and hides. When Maria finds Rosita and talks to her, she explains that she used to get embarrassed when she had to translate for her family too. First she has to make porridge-raisin cookies, then sing golden oldie bear songs, and finally play bear games. But Gabi Doesn't know how to do any of these things. Now Coach Pogolyi doesn't believe that Telly can win, but Telly's friends do! Telly is about to quit, but Baby Bear and Gina encourage him to believe in himself and bounce the way he knows how. Stinky the Stinkweed gets a new book called the "Great Big Book of Every Plant that Ever Was" by Dr. Lily Rosenbloom. Stinky tries to find himself in the book but he can't. Now Stinky's worried that he's not a plant at all. He's not a dog because he can't chase sticks. He's not a bird because he can't fly. Maybe Dr. Rosenbloom just made a mistake by leaving stinkweeds out of her book. The only way to find out is for Dr. Rosenbloom to visit Sesame Street and run some tests to determine if Stinky is, in fact, a plant. The Doctor arrives to investigate and observe Stinky.
